Sell out confirmed for Elland Road D-day

Leeds’ final home game of the season against Norwich City on the 29th April has completely sold out after increased demand following the release of general sale two days ago.

The final home game of the season could prove to be one of Leeds’ most important fixtures of the season after the Whites fell out of the play-off positions following the unexpected 1-0 loss to Wolves on Saturday, and need pick up maximum points from the following three games of the campaign to guarantee a top six finish – with the clash with the Canaries at Elland Road arguably the most challenging.

The Leeds fans clearly still have belief that the Whites can bounce back from recent results and recover the form that has seen them occupy top six for over 100 days this season, and have frantically bought tickets for the final home game; resulting in the 37,890 seater stadium completely packed out with ten days until the all important match.

Leeds’ home support has been phenomenal once again this season – especially in 2017 where five out of the nine home fixtures has seen crowds at Elland Road exceeding 30,000. Leeds’ home form has also been impressive this term, picking up 14 wins and 12 clean sheets out of the 22 games played.

The Norwich game may be a make or break game for United, as a loss may put Leeds completely out of the running for the play-offs but a win putting them in a perfect position with the final game of the season coming at struggling Wigan. Current fifth and sixth placed Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham play each other on the final day of the campaign, and with both teams currently within one point of Leeds three wins from the final three games will more than secure a top six finish.

Leeds will hope to pick up a positive result this Saturday away to Burton Albion which will keep their play-off dreams alive.
