Leeds’ Trip To St. James’ Results In Sell Out

Newcastle United have revealed via their official website that Leeds United’s visit to St. James’ Park on Friday 14th April has resulted in a complete sell out.

Although the away allocation has not been put on sale to Leeds United fans as of yet, the 3,200 will be sold out with ease, with every seat in the home end now already sold; meaning that the attendance will be a capacity crowd of 52,405 at St. James’.

The game, which is on good Friday and shown live on Sky Sports, is one of the fixtures that both Leeds and Newcastle fans would have looked for when they were released way back in July- and with both clubs high up in the Championship table the game will not be a one sided affair.

Newcastle are flying high at the top of the Championship after being relegated from the top flight last term, and have somehow managed to hang on to the majority of their Premier League squad and manager Rafa Benitez; as well as recruit a number of top class players from both the Premiership and Championship. They currently sit one point above second place Brighton, and seven points above Huddersfield Town in third; although the Yorkshire side have a game in hand.

Newcastle have won 24 out of the 38 games so far this season, and have scored 70 goals- the most in the division. The Toon have only dropped 17 points at home all season, and if Leeds manage to grab a point up North it would be a great result.

The highly anticipated affair between arguably the league’s two biggest sides will not be a quiet one, both on and off the pitch with the two sets of passionate supporters hoping to provide an exceptional atmosphere in a game which will really test Leeds’ ability.
