4 things we learned about League 2 this weekend

The fight goes on for Northampton and Torquay

Chris Hargreaves TorquayIt was a very satisfying weekend for League 2’s two bottom clubs, Torquay and Northampton. Torquay claimed a vital three points over fellow relegation candidates Bristol Rovers which halted a run of four league defeats and ensured that they lived to fight another day. Northampton’s safety is in their own hands now following their shock 1-0 win against automatic promotion outsiders Burton. The Cobblers are level on points with Wycombe, who they play this coming Friday, and are just a point behind Bristol Rovers. Defeats and draws for the teams above them has ensured that Northampton are still in with a chance and, despite the huge points gap, that Torquay are not going down without a fight.
