Hartlepool are in the relegation battle
It wasn’t long ago that Hartlepool were in the race for the top seven but seven defeats in ten (five in a row) have left these ambitions in tatters and, even more worryingly, the club’s Football League’s status could be in jeopardy as they sit just three points above the relegation zone. Following their 4-0 home win against Bristol Rovers in March they were just three points outside of the Play-Offs but an atrocious run of five defeats in a row leave them in a precarious position, particularly with tough games between now and the end of the season. Manager Colin Cooper said that the team needed to go “back to basics” following their defeat on Saturday against Chesterfield and they haven’t got long to turn their poor run of form around.
