The football family stands tall again
The weekend saw football remember the 96 Liverpool fans that never came home from the 1989 FA Cup semi-final at Hillsbrough, with Tuesday marking the 25th anniversary of the disaster. The occasion was marked by all games kicking off 7 minutes later than originally scheduled and a minutes silence observed prior to kick off at every game. The tributes up and down the country were overwhelming and proved once more that the football family stands strong and the sense of togetherness is unmatched in sport. Football will never forget the tragic events that took place on April 15th 1989 and we will always remember the 96 fans who never returned home.
