Ipswich Town have joined the race to sign Wigan Athletic’s Max Power according to a report from the Daily Mail.

Earlier in the week, it was reported that Brentford were interested in signing the 23-year-old midfielder as they started to plan how they would spend the money they would get from selling Scott Hogan to West Ham United, with the report also suggesting that they had already made a bid for him. At that time, it seemed like the Bees were going to be the only team in the race to sign Power, meaning they could have taken their time trying to sign him.

However they will face competition if they want to sign the player with the name you want to touch, but mustn’t, as now Ipswich have also made a bid for him. The offer is believed to be around £1.5m, the same offer that Brentford made earlier in the week, and now both teams are set to compete with each other as they look to sign the former Tranmere Rovers man.

However Brentford will be disappointed as it seems like Ipswich are now leading in the race to sign Power. This report suggests that the Tractor Boys have offered better personal terms and if it does end up coming down to just money, the midfielder will be heading to Suffolk rather than West London. But Brentford do still have time to improve their offer and make sure that he is going to wear the red and white stripes by the end of the transfer window.
