An upset in the FA Cup is one of the best things in the world. Unless that is, your team is the one that is actually being upset.
They are often the forgotten ones, as while the TV cameras follow the joy of the tiny team that beat all the odds, the sheer of embarrassment of getting beaten by a team that had no right to is often forgotten just a few months after it concludes.
But Ipswich right now won’t want the cameras on them as they fell to defeat at Lincoln City. It was bad enough when they were forced to have a replay, with only a late equaliser from Tom Lawrence saving them from the ignominy of losing to a non-league side at home. But when a counter attack from Lincoln led to Nathan Arnold rounding the goalkeeper Dean Gerken and becoming the hero of Sincil Bank when he slotted it into the empty net.
Of course while Lincoln fans party into the night, Ipswich fans will have the long journey back to Suffolk to think about the performance that led to an FA Cup upset that will be remembered for many years to come. To makes things worse, it was seen by the entire country as it was one of the few Tractor Boys games to be shown on BBC Sport.
So with their poor form leading to Ipswich’s worst result in many a year, their fans on twitter were not happy, though they were complimentary of Lincoln.

I've remained silent regarding the McCarthy in/out debate but we've been directionless for too long now. Another gutless performance. #ITFC

I know we want more ambition in the transfer market & players should show more fight but McCarthy's tactics are confusing & clueless. #itfc
