Leicester City v Brighton

pi-forest-031280-1370550_478x359Leicester deserve all the plaudits they are getting to secure promotion in such a competitive division with six to go, but do not expect the rest of the season to be a laid back wind down going into the summer. Under Nigel Pearson the players will be set the goal of winning the league title and end the season unbeaten. The reverse fixture was the last time the Foxes lost way back in December and if they can win all of their remaining fixtures they will break the record for the most points in a Football League season. The first objective will be the title which is just ten points away and with three teams in the top seven in their next three, the Foxes are going to have to maintain their sensational run of form. Strengthening in January has helped Leicester achieve their promotion and signing Riyad Mahrez was the signing of the January window. The winger Le Harve with a big reputation and has lived up to it with three goals and four assists in his thirteen games. Mahrez is this game’s key man.

Brighton have hit a sticky patch just at the wrong time in their bid to make the Championship play offs for the second consecutive season. Without a win in five games has seen them fall back into the pack, five points behind 6th place Reading. However, Brighton have a favourable end to the season with just two of their final six games coming against teams in the top half. The message from Oscar Garcia will be to take each game as it comes and go into it targeting three points and see where they end up come the end of the season. The loss of Ashley Barnes and Liam Bridcutt in the January window has never really been overcome and Brighton will need to strengthen in the summer as they look likely to miss out on the chance of promotion this season.
