East Anglian Derby picked for TV

Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town will have their East Anglian Derby at Norwich City broadcast live on Sky Sports in February.

The Tractor Boys travel to Carrow Road on Sunday 26th February, with the second East Anglian Derby of the season kicking off at 12noon.

The two sides have already met this season, with pride and honour being split in August. Cameron Jerome had put the canaries ahead after 26 minutes as he netted the away side’s first meaningful shot on goal.

But the Tractor Boys eventually gained some control and Jonas Knudsen’s first-half added time equaliser stole a point for the Suffolk side.

The Blues are without a win over their near rivals since April 2009, when the Tractor Boys left Norwich in danger of relegation to League One after a 3-2 victory at Portman Road.

The game is almost certain to have plenty of goals, with 29 being scored in each of their meetings since December 2008.

Canaries boss Alex Neil is currently being scrutinised by the Board at Carrow Road as the Norfolk side sit five points outside the relegation places.

Mick McCarthy’s side, meanwhile, are also lacking in form with the Tractor Boys sitting in fifteenth – eleven points behind Wednesday in the final play off spot and seven points ahead of Blackburn Rovers in the final relegation spot.

Town host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday, with McCarthy’s side looking to bounce back from the 1-1 home draw with non-league Lincoln City last weekend.

Norwich, however, make the trip to Yorkshire to face basement side Rotherham United.
