4 things learned about the Championship this weekend

Charlton are back in the thick of it

Blackpool v Yeovil 050414With every passing round of fixtures the picture at the bottom of the table looks so different. The midweek win at Leeds for the Addicks was the perfect result from one of their games in hand, however a below par performance and result at home to Reading has opened the relegation scrap. It was by no means a disaster and time to panic for Charlton, but two wins and a draw from the bottom three makes things look very interesting going into the final six games of the season. The shock result of the Championship came at the City Ground with Millwall raising their game when things looked certain to end in tears. A passionate display turned in by Lions kept Yeovil at the foot of the table despite their win at Blackpool. The writing was on the walls for Yeovil losing 4-1 at home to Barnsley, but they responded superbly, especially considering the news that Ishmael Miller has left the club after storming out of a team meeting before the game. Barnsley themselves continued their plan of escape from Championship relegation with a fine point against Brighton who still have aspirations of making the play offs. So to sum it all up, throw the form guide out the window and do not include these side’s matches on your accumulator as they are impossible to predict. Just sit back and watch the drama unfold.
