Bundesliga high-flyers RB Leipzig have reportedly offered Nottingham Forest £6 million in exchange for 19-year-old midfielder Matty Cash.
According to the Nottingham Post, the controversial German club are set to raid Philippe Montanier’s squad for a second time as they look to strengthen their ranks in preparation for their Bundesliga title fight.
This comes after Scottish winger Oliver Burke left Trentside for Germany in the summer transfer window in a move worth an estimated £12 million.
The Slough-born midfielder has enjoyed his season in a red shirt so far, having broken into the first-team picture under boss Montanier during the first half of the campaign and impressed the Forest faithful.
He has made just twelve appearances for the club but is already the subject of interest from a host of clubs; Chelsea were linked with a £5 million January move for the player last month, although Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hawasi dismissed claims that Cash would move on during this window.
However, the young playmaker is refusing to let speculation surrounding his future affect his game, as he told local media how he remains focused on doing a job for his current club.
“I am just enjoying my football, I am working hard and training hard – I am not focusing on that, I am only focused on playing in every game. I am focused on my performance and the team performance and hopefully on helping us to collect three points.
“I am not focusing on anything else other than being ready for games. It is obviously good that people are (talking about me) but my main focus is on improving my game and getting better.
“I want to play as much as I can for Nottingham Forest.”
Forest take on fellow Championship outfit Wigan in the Emirates FA Cup third round on Saturday.
