League 1 Weekend Preview

Tranmere v Carlisle

The final previewed game is at the wrong end of the League 1 table and it is between 2oth placed Tranmere and 21st placed Carlisle.

Tranmere come into this game of the back of a 2-1 home defeat against Swindon and only one win in the whole of March. They are 1 place above the drop zone but are only above Saturday’s opponents on goals scored. They have only won 4 matches since the turn of the year, of which 3 of them were at home. However, they have only lost five matches in the same time frame so if Tranmere can find a cutting edge I believe they can beat the drop.

Carlisle also come into this match in bad form. They have only scored twice in the whole month and they haven’t won since the 11th of February. Last Saturday they suffered a 4-1 thumping by Notts County who are also in the drop zone so the cumbrians will need a Carlisle v Tramererapid change of fortune if they aren’t going to be playing League 2 football next season.

Both teams have identical records: Played 18 Won 10 Drew 9 Lost 19. Due to this I believe both teams will cancel each other out at Prenton Park.

Previous Score: Carlisle 4-1 Tranmere

Score Prediction Tranmere 1-1 Carlisle
