League 1 Weekend Preview

Oldham V Brentford

The next match is between relegation threatened Oldham and promotion chasing Brentford.

Oldham come into this match off a great 1-1 draw away at third place Leyton Orient, in which the latics grabbed a 90th minute equaliser. They have only lost twice in the last 6 games and find themselves 18th, 4 points clear of the drop although they have played a game more than 21st place Carlisle. Oldham should take hope from the fact that, in the first fixture at Griffin Park, they nearly scraped a point but a last minute Jonathan Douglas goal made sure the points stayed in West London.

Brentford v OldhamBrentford will be looking to bounce straight back from a 3-0 away defeat to Rotherham last time out. It was, however, their first away defeat in 5 months and only their second defeat under Mark Warburton.  The defeat was only their second in 25 games so I expect that the bees will bounce back this Saturday. Also before that, the bees had only conceded one goal in the whole of March.

However, much like MK Dons, if Oldham can stop Brentford scoring early I believe they have a chance.

Previous score: Brentford 1-0 Oldham

Score Prediction: Oldham1-3 Brentford
