Norwich City defender slapped with fine for speeding

Norwich City’s Martin Olsson has been hit with a fine for speeding in a 30mph zone according to a report from the Eastern Daily Press.

The 28-year-old defender was going at 37mph in his Bentley when he should have been driving under 30mph on Kloblenz Avenue back on the 29th December. He was caught by a speed camera on the street.

And while Olsson didn’t attend the hearing at Norwich Magistrates Court today, he was represented by his solicitor Dave Foulkes. And while Foulkes did complain that Olsson did not receive the relevant paperwork relating to his offence, with the court hearing that it was accidentally sent to a previous address of Olsson’s, he did put in a guilty plea for the defender.

Olsson then received an £80 fine, along with a £20 victim surcharge meaning he had to be pay out a total of £100, as well as receiving three penalty points on his licence.

This season Olsson has only appeared a few times for the Canaries. While he started the season in the first team by playing in the matches against Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield Wednesday, he then didn’t make an appearance for a month until he returned to the first team to play in the match against Wigan Athletic. However he has been a good omen for Norwich when he’s played this season, the Norfolk based club haven’t lost.

Olsson will hope to put this fine out of his head and play in the EFL Cup fixture against Everton tomorrow night.
