Grant McCann looks ahead to Port Vale clash

Speaking to thePoshTV, Peterborough United manager Grant McCann has given his take on his side’s Sky Bet League One fixture with Port Vale tomorrow.

McCann’s Posh sit in sixth place in the League One table and know that if results go their way, they could move into the automatic promotion places.

The Posh boss was full of praise for his opposite number ahead of Saturday’s game.

Port Vale have started the season well in the league. The new gaffer has bought in a lot of new players, and they certainly play good football,” said McCann.

“We know what they’re about though. We’ve watched a few of their games and we’re ready.”

McCann was quick to note that Port Vale have been struggling a lot on their travels so far this season, and that is something he hopes his players will take advantage of.

The visitors to the ABAX Stadium on Saturday are without an away win all season, and were beaten 4-1 at Bury last weekend.

McCann has enjoyed not having a midweek fixture this week, for the first time since he took over at the Posh.

“It’s been good having the boys in all week. We’ve been fully focussed on the Port Vale match and we feel that we’re more than ready,” said the Posh man.

Peterborough United have picked up four points from their last two games, and McCann hopes to build on that, and install some consistency into his young squad.

The Posh manager welcomes back both Hayden White and Michael Smith, and said that it was “great” to have them both back.
