The Championship’s five most underrated summer signings

There have been numerous signings this summer from Championship clubs which have gone under the radar slightly, and could possibly turn out to be fantastic additions.

Here are what could be the top 5 most underrated signings;

5. Steven Fletcher to Sheffield Wednesday

Coming in at number five is Scottish striker Steven Fletcher who signed for Wednesday on a free transfer in the summer. Fletcher is a great presence to have in attack and is a huge threat in the air. Having a player of his experience, being a proven Premier League striker, could turn out to be invaluable and could possibly be one of the signings of the season.

4. Ben Pringle to Preston North End

Ben Pringle joined the Lilywhites from Fulham in the summer, which is an excellent coup from manager Simon Grayson. He has a wand of a left foot which will help them create a huge amount of chances from crosses into the box, and he also isn’t shy when it comes to free kicks. He’s an extremely versatile midfielder, that can play centrally or from out wide.

3. Tom Bradshaw to Barnsley

Tom Bradshaw signed for Barnsley early in the summer after handing in a transfer request at Walsall. Having had a formidable season last year in League One with the Saddlers where he had a one in two goal to game ratio, he attracted plenty of interest from some top Championship clubs.

This move impressed me as the Tykes managed to see off some big club’s for Bradshaw’s signature and it also shows the player’s desire for first team football at a higher level.

2. Aaron Mooy to Huddersfield Town

Aaron Mooy moved from Melbourne City to Manchester City in the summer and began the quest to find a Championship club to move to on loan for first team football. The Australian signed for Huddersfield Town on loan as Manchester City felt like the West Yorkshire club was the right place for his development.

Mooy has had a fantastic start to the season, playing a pivotal role in Huddersfield’s race to the top of the league.

1. Alex Pritchard to Norwich City

Although the ex Tottenham Hotspur man didn’t come cheap (A reported £8million), he is without doubt one of the best signings of the transfer window by a Championship club. He has proven that he is extremely talented and has the ability to perform week in and week out at this level after his successful loan spell at Brentford during the 2014/15 campaign.

Pritchard will be the signing of the season if he can help Norwich secure a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
