Thomas Lam: Forest defence must improve

Despite scoring 2 goals in 2 games defender Thomas Lam is far from happy with Nottingham Forests campaign, reports the Nottingham Post.

Despite only starting 2 games this campaign for Forest, former PEC Zwolle defender Thomas Lam has insisted he’d swap his own person goals for a more resolute 1-0 victory.

“Maybe it is nice to watch for the fans, but for myself and the other defenders, it was not so much fun. We want to be keeping clean sheets and we need to work on that,” said Lam.

“It is great to score four goals at home, but it cannot be good for the fans, because we will be giving them heart attacks with performances like that.

“We know we need to improve our defending. Our attacking is good and we created a lot of chances again. Maybe the finishing could also be better. But we have to look forward to the next games now and improve where we need to.” Lam stated.

“We have had to score four goals to win the game twice at home this season. But we will work every day on it. It is not working in the games yet, but we need to be more sharp in the box, we need to stop the crosses – we have to continue to work on these things.

“The next couple of games have to be better. Because we cannot expect to score four goals in every game – that is impossible.”

Can Forest be successful continually relying on their attacking prowess to dig them out of trouble?
