Forest keeper on the verge of joining Rodgers’ revolution

Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Dorus De Vries is on the verge of completing a move to Scottish Premiership champions Celtic according to the Nottingham Post.

The 35 year old exprienced Dutch stopper is believed to be currently undergoing a medical with The Bhoys and could sign for Brendan Rodgers’ evolving side later this afternoon.

De Vries is currently out of action with a minor ankle injury after being substituted during Nottingham Forest’s thrilling 4-3 victory over SkyBet Championship new boys Burton Albion at The City Ground last weekend and that could prove to be the player’s last contribution for the Midlands club.

Celtic manager Brendan Rogers is currently looking for a new goalkeeper to provide current number one Craig Gordon with some stern competition and has earmarked Forest keeper De Vries as his main target. Should the player successfully complete his medical with the Scottish giants, De Vries will make the move to Celtic Park for an undisclosed fee.

De Vries is in the final year of his contract with Nottingham Forest and the club could see the sale of the player to be more favourable than the keeper potentially leaving the club for free upon the expiry of his deal next summer. The player has made 63 appearances for The Reds since joining the club as a free agent in summer 2013.
