Loanee Abraham could become bargain of the summer

Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham could prove to be one of the deals of the summer during his time at Bristol City.

The 18 year old London born forward joined The Robins on the eve of the new season and netted his first senior career goal on Saturday as Bristol City came from behind to beat newly promoted Wigan Athletic at Ashton Gate.

In a Bristol City squad which includes the ever popular Lee Tomlin and last season’s 20 goal striker Jonathan Kodjia, Abraham was made to wait until the 67th minute of Saturday’s clash to make his City bow but the youngster soon made himself known to The Robins fans as the match was turned on it’s head as he netted an equaliser with just nine minutes remaining before City grabbed a late winner.

In a week that has seen some large transfer fees paid for several players in the SkyBet Championship, Abraham could prove to be a real steal with the youngster set to spend the whole season on loan at Ashton Gate from parent club Chelsea. The youngster is one of the hottest up and coming talents in the English game after netting 74 goals for his parent club in just 98 games at various youth levels.

Credit must go to Bristol City manager Lee Johnson for beating off the challenge of a number of other clubs to land the young goal machine. In Abraham, Tomlin and Kodjia, The Robins look to have the resources to mount a real challenge for promotion with the club now boasting an attack which is more than capable of bagging over 40 goals over the course of the season.
