Bristol City sign Chelsea youngster on loan

Bristol City have signed Tammy Abraham from Chelsea on loan for the season as confirmed by the club website.

The 18-year-old striker is one of the most highly rated youngsters in the Chelsea academy having already played for the first team twice and has been capped by the England U19s. But in order to continue his development as player, Abraham has now moved on loan to the Robins and will be there for the entire season.

For the Robins, this signing will be seen a coup for them. Several other Championship teams were looking to sign the striker but Bristol City managed to beat them off to get his signature. Now he will hope to reward his new team with plenty of goals, as well as impress the management back in Chelsea so he can continue to progress through their ranks.

And after signing Abraham, the West County club have confirmed that Abraham will enter the squad immediately and should play a part in the opening game of the season against Wigan Athletic tomorrow.

Abraham becomes Bristol City’s eighth signing of the summer as the club look to push for a play off spot. Also signed this season are Lee Tomlin, Hordur Magnussen, Callum O’Dowda, Josh Brownhill, Gary O’Neil, Adam Matthews and Ivan Lucic.
