Robins linked with former Manchester United youngster

Bristol City are one of a quartet of Championship clubs being linked with Crystal Palace striker Fraizer Campbell according to the Bristol Post.

The bookmakers are tipping the former Manchester United academy graduate to make the move to the Championship this summer after falling out with current club Crystal Palace.

The player has been tipped to join Bristol City while The72 reported earlier today that Nottingham Forest were leading the chase to sign Campbell. Fellow Championship clubs Fulham and Cardiff City are the other two clubs rumoured to be pondering a move for the striker.

The 28 year old Huddersfield born striker went on to make just four senior appearances as a youngster at Manchester United and Campbell regularly found himself playing away from Old Trafford with the striker enjoying loan spells with Royal Antwerp, Hull City and Tottenham Hotspur.

In 2009, Sunderland paid a £3.5 million transfer fee to sign the player on a permanent basis. Campbell spent three and a half years on Wearside scoring 10 goals in 72 appearances for The Black Cats before joining Cardiff City in January 2013. The striker scored 16 goals in 52 appearances during his time at the Cardiff City Stadium helping The Bluebirds to promotion to the Premier League.

Campbell has spent the last two seasons at Crystal Palace however the striker has found opportunities limited at Selhurst Park and the player could now leave the club in search of regular first team football.
