5 things learned about the Championship this weekend

Ipswich are ones to watch next season

1158666065The Amex is one of the toughest away days in the Championship, or at least that is what the records suggest over recent years. Ipswich made the trip down south with a smart and effective game plan to nullify the Brighton threat. They got their reward in the form of a magnificent 2-0 win to take back to Suffolk. Earlier in the year Ipswich were right in and amongst the play off mix. Despite stumbling slightly in the last few months they are still within touching distance. Even if they fail to make the top six Mick McCarthy can say he has had a very successful season at Portman Road and can start making plans for pushing on next season. The core of the team is strong and with some smart additions in the summer there is no reason why the Tractor Boys can not find themselves in the play off mix in twelve months time. In David McGoldrick they have a lethal marksman at this level and if someone can support his efforts then 2015 could be a good year for Ipswich.
