Fulham sign up free agent international forward

Championship side Fulham have announced the signing of free agent forward Sone Aluko. The Nigerian international has signed a two-year contract at Craven Cottage. This includes an option for an addition twelve months.

The 27-year-old makes the move after leaving promoted Hull City at the end of last season. He spent four seasons with Steve Bruce’s men, twice winning promotion with them out of the Championship.

The former Rangers man has seven caps for Nigeria to his name so far, scoring twice during those caps. He came through the youth ranks at Birmingham City, but played only once for the club. A loan spell at Aberdeen in Scotland was a productive one, so much so they made it permanent the following season. He returned to English football with Hull in July 2012.

Aluko is now entering a new chapter in his career after a lengthy spell with the Tigers. His signing comes on the day where his new manager, Slavisa Jokanovic, tweeted that he wants to add new players to his squad.

He is someone who is capable of playing all across the forward line. At times he played as a lone centre forward for Hull, or even as a False Nine. He has also been known to play out wide or in a number ten role.
