Nottingham Forest complete deal for Finnish international

Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Thomas Lam from PEC Zwolle for an undisclosed fee as confirmed by the club website.

This deal has been known about for a few days after the 22-year-old defender posted a picture of him signing his new contract on Instagram earlier in the week. All that needed to happen was for the Football League to approve the deal and now that’s happened it has been revealed he’s penned a 3 year deal with the club.

Despite being fairly young, Lam has still gained quite a bit of experience over the last few years. He made 30 appearances for Zwolle last season and he started to become a regular for Finland in the European Championship Qualifiers, though he was unable to help them make it to Euro 2016.

Now though he will be hoping to help Forest as after a number of disappointing seasons they will be hoping that this is the year they finally make a push for promotion from the Championship.

Lam started his career at Amsterdam based club AFC before being picked up by the AZ Alkmaar academy where he made six appearances before moving onto Zwolle in 2014. He became a regular for them over his two years at the club before he moved on to Forest today.
