4 things we learned about League 2 this weekend

Exeter have taken a big step towards safety on a quiet weekend at the bottom

Exeter

After a weekend where very little changed at the foot of League Two, Exeter City followed up their massively disappointing match in midweek (a 1-0 home defeat to Northampton, courtesy of a scruffy Ian Morris effort) with a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at fellow strugglers Newport. It was essential for Exeter not too lose and they duly delivered, stopping Newport gained any more ground on them whilst ensuring they jump above Accrington on goals scored and regain the three point gap between them and Northampton, which could prove vital come the end of the season.
