Australian media claim Huddersfield sign Man City midfielder

Four Four Two Australia reports that Huddersfield Town have loaned Manchester City midfielder Aaron Mooy. The Australian international only moved to the Etihad earlier this week from sister club Melbourne City. He has now reportedly been loaned out immediately.

It is believed to be a season-long loan. This has not been officially reported by the football club yet. The site also provides quotes from both Mooy himself and his agent. Here, Mooy states he is looking forward to working with David Wagner next season.

25-year-old Mooy concedes that the Championship is a very competitive league. However he is relishing the chance to prove himself in English football,

“I’m delighted to join Huddersfield Town Football Club, ahead of what I’m sure will be a really exciting season and I can’t wait to get started.  The Championship is a really tough competition and provides me with a good challenge for the next stage of my career.

“I’m looking forward to meeting my new team mates and to working with the boss David Wagner. Huddersfield are a progressive club and are an ideal fit for me to achieve my goals for the coming year.”

Paddy Dominguez, the players’ agent, says this the right move at this point in Mooy’s career. He believes Wagner is the perfect coach to work with,

“Aaron’s loan deal to Huddersfield is a great next step for Aaron. Every decision Aaron has made has been strategically planned with a view to him having a good opportunity to get a lot of games and work with the right coach.

“David Wagner has done brilliant work with Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund and is exactly the kind of coach that will help Aaron progress his game to the next level, which will be of great benefit to Australia and Huddersfield.”

16-cap Mooy will now link up with his new team-mates for pre-season.
