Leeds United still monitoring Uruguayan striker

Leeds United are still tracking Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti,  despite missing out on the striker last summer.

Avenatti could be sold this transfer window, as his contract expires in just 12 months.

Ternana News have claimed that Leeds United are continuing to monitor Avenatti’s situation a year after they failed to sign the striker.

There were reports last week that Avenatti would be sold in this transfer window due to his poor form last season.

If they want to make some money on the striker, he needs to be sold this summer.

Avenatti caused a bit of trouble amongst the Ternana coaching staff last season.

He has several run ins their former boss Roberto Breda. Earlier this year, Breda substituted Avenatti after just 30 minutes during a Serie B game.

The next day, the player was forced to train separately from all of his teammates.

There have since been changes at the Italian club, with Breda leaving, and former Chelsea defender Christian Panucci taking charge of the team.

Panucci hasn’t been with the club for very long. He’s only taken charge of a week’s training so far, so it’s unsure how he feels about Avenatti, and whether he could look to cash in on the striker before it’s too late.
