James Beattie

Leeds fans react to Beattie First-Team Coach appointment

It perhaps wasn’t the greatest shock to hear James Beattie was named as the new Leeds United First-Team Coach. For those that aren’t aware, this was the role he held at Swansea City when Garry Monk was manager. How do the Leeds United fans feel about this appointment?

We have headed across to the most often weird and whacky world of Twitter to find that out.

The former England international striker has dipped his toes into the management world in recent seasons. He took charge of Accrington Stanley in League Two, which is also where he ended his playing career.

He is now a few days into his new role at Elland Road. He is currently away in Ireland on their pre-season tour. This gives us a good chance to check out how this has gone down with most Leeds fans.

As you can see, it is practically all positive feedback from the Leeds fans. The fans will appreciate Beattie as they are well aware of how he took to the pitch as a player. Goals aplenty! He also took charge of Accrington Stanley, which is no easy job. These are facts which will warm him to the Elland Road faithful. He clearly has a great relationship with Monk and Clotet as well, which can only be a major positive.
