Former Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler has failed to win the race to become the new FC Nurnberg manager. Zeit reported that the German was in consideration for the 2.Bundesliga vacancy. Alois Schwartz has since been appointed.
Rosler was recently heavily linked with the Bradford City job. The League One club then appointed Stuart McCall to the role for a second time. The 47-year-old has been out of work since being sacked by the Elland Road club in October 2015.
The former Manchester City striker has held three management jobs in English football. Prior to this he coached in Norway with Lillestrom, Viking and Molde. He took Lillestrom in a domestic cup final in 2015, whilst he guided Viking to a third place finish in 2007.
His first stint in England came at Griffin Park with Brentford. He was appointed in June 2011 on a two-year contract. The Bees would finish ninth in his first season at the helm. The following season was much more dramatic. They missed out on automatic promotion on the final day, before losing to Yeovil Town in the Play-Off Final.
He took over at Wigan in December 2013 after Owen Coyle left the club. His first game was a defeat to Maribor in a Europa League group stage game. They would reach the play-offs, but failed to win promotion. He would lose his job early into the next season.
His time at Leeds was extremely brief. He had just twelve games in the hot-seat, winning two of those. Massimo Cellino dismissed Rosler and replaced him with Steve Evans almost instantly.
Rosler awaits his next managerial challenge.
