Gwion Edwards discusses his move to Peterborough

Peterborough United’s new signing Gwion Edwards has announced the reason he joined the club was because of ambition.

The 23 year old midfielder signed a three year deal at the ABAX, after deciding he was destined for bigger and better things than League Two football.

“Crawley was very good for me,” Edwards said. “It’s always tough to move on, but the time was right for me and Peterborough seems like it should be the right club.

“There had been a bit of interest in me, but as soon as Peterborough came in, the move happened very quickly.”

“I came up to see the manager and I loved what he had to say. I didn’t take long to make my mind up.”

“I can play anywhere across the middle. I’m quick and I like to take people on so hopefully I will fit into the style of play the manager wants.”

“I’m ambitious and I want to progress and develop as a footballer.”

Edwards spoke of the unity feel within the squad during their pre season trip in Portugal.

“I’ve settled in well. Everyone has been great, and the squad are a tight unit.”

“The aim now is to continue to settle in with the squad, have a good pre season and then challenge for promotion from League One.”
