PNE on the verge of making further new additions

Championship club Preston North End are set to conclude further transfer business within the next few days according to the Lancashire Evening Post.

The Lilywhites have already signed goalkeeper Chris Maxwell, defender Tommy Spurr and strikers Eoin Doyle and Simon Makienok and it is understood that two more deals could be completed by the weekend.

The Lancashire club are thought to be in talks with a goalkeeper and a winger about moves to Deepdale. North End have been linked with moves for West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard and Norwich City winger Jacob Murphy this summer however the identities of the two potential new recruits remain unknown although The Lilywhites may have to pay at least one transfer fee for a player.

After four seasons in League 1, Preston North End made their long awaited return to the Championship last season and the club enjoyed a comfortable campaign in which North End finished in 11th position in the league table.

The club conceded exactly the same amount of goals as they scored in the Championship last season (45) and Lilywhites manager Simon Grayson is looking to improve his squad in many areas to ensure that the club makes further steady progress during the coming season.
