Celtic linked striker deemed ‘not for sale’ by League One club

Millwall manager Neil Harris has informed South London Press that striker Lee Gregory ‘is not for sale’. He also revealed that there is an option on his contract to extend his deal.

Gregory has been linked with clubs such as Celtic in recent times, but Harris insists there is no truth to any rumours surrounding him.

The former Halifax forward still has a year to run on his current deal. Knowing that there is an option to extend that a further year is comforting. Therefore, Harris insists Gregory won’t be leaving and he doesn’t want to sell,

“There has been no contact from anybody. Lee is not for sale.

“Lee is under contract for another 12 months and the club have an option to extend the contract for another year.”

Brighton & Hove Albion and Hull City have both been linked to the goal machine as well. He signed in 2014 for £250,000 and has fired in the goals ever since. He smashed in 27 goals last season as Millwall reached the League One Play-Off Final.

Harris is adamant that any link to Gregory leaving is paper talk and insists that there have been no offers for the front man,

“It only takes one person to say ‘he’s linked with a club’ and then it’s ‘he’s going’. I’ve not heard anything on these clubs. It’s new to me.”

The former Mansfield Town trainee is bound to be linked to other clubs based on his goalscoring exploits last season. Harris will be hoping to build his team around him, rather than sell and replace him. Nevertheless, Gregory looks set to be staying with Millwall.
