Reece Brown has signed a new one year contract with Birmingham City as confirmed by the club website.
While the 20-year-old midfielder has only made nine appearances for the Blues since coming through the academy, he is seen as a hot prospect for the future and it will be great news for the coaching staff and fans that Brown has signed a new deal that will keep him at St Andrews until 2017.
Brown has been with Birmingham since he was 10 years old and has worked himself up the youth system before making his debut back in 2013 in a 3-0 loss against Burnley. Since then he has made the odd appearance for the Blues and also had a loan spell with Notts County in 2014 where he made four appearances. Now Brown will hope to break into the Birmingham first team on a regular basis and become a key player in the squad.
After signing the contract, Brown said,
“I’m happy to get a new deal and have another year at the Club.
“I’ve been here for a while, I’m used to the Club and I’m comfortable in my surroundings.
“It’s a good place for me to try and get in the First Team.
“It’s a new year, a new start, I just want to get on with it and get in the First Team.”
