Club legend to return as Bradford City manager

The Telegraph and Argus reports that Stuart McCall is set to return to Bradford City as manager. He previously managed the club between 2007 and 2010. He also played well over 300 times for the Bantams as a player.

The club have been on the lookout for a new manager after Phil Parkinson took on the Bolton Wanderers job. The new City owners have turned to an old favourite to get the club into the Championship.

The 52-year-old, is managed Motherwell and Rangers in Scotland, is currently on holiday. When he returns, he should sign a contract. No official confirmation will be made by the club until such contracts are formally signed.

It is believed that McCall will appoint Kenny Black as his assistant manager at Valley Parade. The pair have previously worked together during their time at Motherwell.

Several names have been linked to the vacancy, including ex-Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler. Nevertheless, following an interview process, McCall will return for a second stint as manager.

The appointment is likely to be an extremely popular one amongst the Bradford City faithful. Many are still shocked and surprised at the fairly sudden and unexpected departure of Parkinson recently.

McCall has hid his hope to return to the Bradford dugout at some stage. The club has progressed since his time in charge. He himself believes he is a better coach and manager as well. He brings a wealth of experience, and will surely be a major asset to the League One side next season.
