Former Brighton boss unlikely to move to Nottingham Forest

Oscar Garcia is unlikely to be the net Nottingham Forest manager after saying he is fully focused on his current club Red Bull Salzburg in comments reported by the Nottingham Post.

Garcia has been the favourite to get the job with a bookies for a while after he had talks with Forest owner Fawaz Al-Hasawi over the possibility of moving to the club. But it has been some time since those talks with little movement and now it seems as if the Spaniard will not be sitting in the dugout at the City Ground anytime soon.

When talking to the Austrian media, he said that is currently focusing on preparing Red Bull Salzburg for next season and is no longer thinking about any potential moves away. It will be a disappointment to some Forest fans as Garcia had some success with Brighton and Hove Albion when he took them to the play offs two years in a row.

He said: “I am here and fully focused on the new season. I am very happy and feel very comfortable in Salzburg,”

Garcia remains the favourite to get the job despite this statement, but Neil Warnock, Gianfranco Zola and Steve Evans are still linked to the role.
