Report links another sacked Leeds manager with Bradford job

The Daily Star understands that Bradford City have made Neil Redfearn their preferred managerial target. The Bantams are searching for a replacement for Phil Parkinson, who surprised many by becoming the new manager at Bolton Wanderers.

Redfearn has been out of work since being relieved of his duties at Rotherham United last season, and was subsequently replaced by Neil Warnock at the New York Stadium.

Bradford City club legend Stuart McCall and former Leeds United and Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler are the two names currently heading the betting at this stage. The link to Redfearn would be plausible but it remains to be seen how serious the link actually is.

The Daily Star stats that ‘more talks are planned’ and that Redfearn is very keen to get back into management.

Redfearn spent a brief period of time as manager in the 1999/2000 season. He has frequently spent most of his footballing life, both as player and coach, around this geographical area of the country, so the link to Redfearn at least makes sense on that front.

He has amassed over 100 games in management but the majority of those have been very brief stints. His longest spell in charge was when he was given the job by Massimo Cellino at Elland Road, but even that ultimately lasted only 33 games. His time at Rotherham saw him take charge of just 21 matches.
