Terriers brace themselves for interest in defender

Huddersfield Town are preparing themselves for summer interest in centre back Joel Lynch according to The Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

Lynch is already thought to be on Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers’ wanted list and The Terriers are expecting offers to be made for the player.

The experienced 28 year old Eastbourne born defender put in some really solid displays for The Terriers last season and those performances will have no doubt impressed any clubs watching the player.

Lynch joined Huddersfield Town in summer 2012 after rejecting a new deal at former club Nottingham Forest and the player has gone on to make 122 appearances for the West Yorkshire club and has scored nine goals.

The defender started his career as a youngster at Brighton & Hove Albion where he made 79 appearances and scored two goals. Lynch had a spell on loan at Nottingham Forest during the 2008/2009 season and signed for the club on a permanent basis in summer 2009 after impressing during his trial spell at The City Ground.

The defender is under contract at The John Smith’s Stadium until next summer therefore any clubs wishing to sign Lynch will have to submit suitable offers for the player. Huddersfield Town have confirmed that no offers or enquiries have been received to date.
