Seagulls are swooping for Jordan Cousins

Charlton Athletic midfielder Jordan Cousins has been linked with a move to Brighton and Hove Albion, after the Addicks’ recent relegation to Sky Bet League One according to the South London Press.

Cousins was one of the more successful players in the Charlton squad last season, after a rather dismal period for Charlton Athletic.

Brighton and Hove Albion, a side which finished close to 90 points, and were in the running for a large majority of the season for promotion to the Premier League, until being beaten by Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-final are looking at Jordan Cousins as a transfer target for their upcoming campaign.

Chris Hughton will be looking to finish in the automatic promotion spots after their success story last season, and is looking at Cousins to be part of that at the Amex.

Cousins is a product of the highly successful Charlton academy, which has produced a range of potent talent in recent years.

The midfielder won Charlton’s Player of the Year Award for the second year running, and has been identified as a player which is Charlton through-and-through, and who is worthy to wear the shirt.

The 22 year old also won the League One Apprentice of the Year Award back in 2012.

If Cousins is to depart from the Valley for the Amex, he will be greatly missed by the fans and if ever to return will be greatly welcomed.

Cousins has made a total of 136 appearances for the Addicks and the defensive midfielder has scored a total of 7 goals in that time.

Jordan Cousins will be one of the players that Slade identified as not leaving the Valley without a significant financial package being offered.
