West Brom goalkeeper wants Championship move

West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill is willing to drop down a league to the Championship in order to get first team football next season, according to The Sun.

Myhill, 33, is not currently first choice goalkeeper at West Brom and wants a move away from the club this summer in order to play more football.

Aston Villa were the club Myhill began his career with, but after five loan spells away from the club and without making a senior appearance, the goalkeeper left for Hull City in 2003.

Hull were in Division Three at the time and Myhill was a key player in the club’s rise up the leagues.  The club won back-to-back promotions to League One then the Championship.

Hull were promoted to the Premier League in 2008 with Myhill playing 43 league games for the club.

Myhill then joined West Bromwich Albion for around £1.5 million in 2010 but played only six Premier League games during his first season with the club.

A loan to Birmingham City came next for the goalkeeper, who returned to West Brom for the 2012-13 season.

Myhill was first choice for the club for 20 games last season, but lost his place once again when Ben Foster returned from injury towards the end of the campaign.

This lack of first team football has left Myhill looking for a move away from the club.  After a successful loan spell with Birmingham in 2011-12, Myhill is willing to drop down into the Championship and would be a solid signing for any side.
