Charlton chasing MK Dons striker

Charlton have better chances of securing the MK Dons striker Alex Revell as he already has a working relationship with the newly appointed Addicks’ manager, according to local reports.

At the end of the season when Charlton Athletic released their retained list, it showed that Simon Makienok, Reza Ghoochannejhad, Zak Ansah and Yaya Sanogo were all leaving the South East London side.

Now it is up to Slade as the newly appointed manager, along with the newly assigned Chief Scout, Steve Head, to begin a process of filling gaps and constructing a promotion fighting side next season.

The MK Dons man, Alex Revell who is currently being fought for by a large number of League One sides is looking more likely to be secured by the Addicks over the summer transfer window.

The reason being because Alex Revell played under Russell Slade at Leyton Orient and Cardiff City, creating a professional and working relationship which will give Charlton the leading edge in the fight for the forward.

Alex Revell still has 12 months on his contract and will require the Addicks to pay an additional fee, but Slade is an experienced manager with one of the largest financial budgets in League One, and no doubt will use his relationship with the forward to make the deal smoother.

Revell was able to score a total of 3 goals in 9 appearance for MK Dons last season, but was still a side which witnessed relegation along with Charlton Athletic and Bolton Wanderers.
