Three Championship clubs chasing Derby County defender

Brighton and Hove Albion, Fulham and QPR are all tracking the situation of Derby County’s Craig Forsyth according to a report from TeamTalk.

The 27-year-old left back, who can also play in midfield, had been seen as one of the best full backs in the Championship and was a key part of the Derby team that reached the Play-off Final back in 2014.

However Forsyth suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury back in November and was ruled out for the rest of the season and in his place Derby signed Marcus Olsson from Blackburn Rovers. In Forsyth’s absence, Olsson performed well and helped get the Rams into the play off semi-finals.

Now that Forsyth is starting to return to full fitness, the club are unsure if he will be able to break back into the first team and that has put several other Championship teams on alert as they look to sign up a top-quality full-back.

Brighton are the main team that will be hoping to sign Forsyth as they aim to boost their defensive ranks after releasing Gordon Greer. QPR and Fulham also had poor defences last year and think that Forsyth could help them tighten up at the back.
