Sheffield United 3-0 Bristol City

John Brayford, Ryan Flynn and Jose Baxter all contributed towards Sheffield United’s 3-0 victory over fellow strugglers Bristol City. Even with the majority of early chances falling to the home team, Nigel Clough’s men couldn’t make it count until just before half time when John Brayford slotted in at the back post after a corner from Jose Baxter.

15 minutes into the second half, Flynn made it two after his fellow Scotsman Jamie Murphy beat Karleigh Osbourne with some clever trickery and played the ball across into Flynn’s feet. After cutting in from the right, Flynn placed his shot into the bottom left hand corner of visiting keeper Simon Moore’s net.

The vibrant Sheffield United support pushed the Blades to try and get a third goal. And it paid dividend. With the ball being played into winger Flynn’s feet, he darted into the box, skipped past one and then, as he went to get past Osbourne, was fouled by the City full back, resulting in referee Scott Duncan awarding a penalty kick. Jose Baxter made no mistake, powering his shot into the bottom left corner of Moore’s net.cxh
