Blackburn won’t cash in on Fulham offer for international defender

Fulham are almost set to end their quest to try and sign Blackburn Rovers centre back Grant Hanley according to GetWestLondon. The Whites have tabled a bid of £1.5million for the Scottish international, but Rovers are holding out for a larger fee.

Slavisa Jokanovic is desperately trying to bolster his defensive line after they conceding a whopping 79 goals in the Championship last season. They are in the market for other players, but Hanley is unlikely to be their new signing.

The 24-year-old still has two years to run on his Ewood Park contract and Rovers, who are now managed by former Bolton and Burnley manager Owen Coyle, believe that the player is worth more than the offer currently presented to them.

Jokanovic has already seen an offer for Bursaspor defender Serdar Aziz rejected but they plan on returning with a higher offer for the Turk.

Dan Burn has already left Craven Cottage this summer as Fulham look to produce a squad capable of significantly improving their showing in the second tier last season. They were involved in a relegation scrap for most of it, only surviving with a few weeks of the campaign remaining.

Clubs such as Derby County and Rangers have previously been linked with Hanley, although neither are believed to have submitted a bid like Fulham have.
