With the news breaking last night that former Bolton Wanderers and Burnley manager Owen Coyle is set to take over the reins at Blackburn Rovers, we look at how fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
Predictably fans mostly reacted badly to this news, with many using the hashtag #VenkysOut that was trending worldwide on Tuesday evening to voice their views:
Owen Coyle = disaster. #venkysout

It can't be Owen Coyle. It can't be. #Venkysout #Rovers

Some fans turned to humour to make their point about Coyle’s expected appointment:
If you deliberate for eight weeks and the answer is Owen Coyle, what question were you even asking?! #VenkysOut pic.twitter.com/r8xXw1CZOp

3 million years of searching for a manager, passing past a few up and comers before appointing Owen Coyle… pic.twitter.com/QNEMqPcvDV

One theme was clear and was something nearly all fans had in common; they blame Venky’s for making poor decision after poor decision and hold the Rao family directly responsible for the disaster Blackburn Rovers are currently.
Sounds like appointing Owen Coyle would send many Blackburn fans over the edge. The final insult from clueless Venkys.

The reaction from Burnley fans was as expected, with some not even capable of words after hearing the news:

One Blackburn fan made a fair point and compared the club’s appointment to other recent appointments in the Championship:
Leeds could get Monk.
Rotherham got Stubbs.
Charlton could get Slade.
Even Blackpool getting Bowyer. All better than Owen Coyle. #VenkysOut

With almost no positive comments from Blackburn fans regarding Coyle’s expected appointment today, it is very predictable what kind of reception the manager will get. With hardly any players and growing debt, the prospect of more protests from Blackburn fans is looking very likely.
