Most number of fans at matches – Derby County
This award certainly favours those clubs with the bigger fan-bases and larger stadiums. Nevertheless, we thought we would give them a mention!
Well done to Derby County, who were the only Championship club to welcome over 600,000 fans through the turnstiles in home league games this season.
Completing the top five is Brighton, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.
Least number of fans at matches – Rotherham United
The New York Stadium is one of the smallest stadiums by number in the Championship, which is the main reason why Rotherham welcomed the least number of fans to their home games. Just over 230,000 came through the turnstiles, but to anyone who has been at a Rotherham home game when the place is really rocking, you could be forgiven thinking these numbers were much greater.
All bar five clubs achieved an attendance of at least 10,000 in their home games. There were occasions when Rotherham, Brentford, Huddersfield, Preston and MK Dons were crowds dipped into the single thousands.
