Leeds United: GFH “no one knowing what they were doing” – Haigh

In the previous installment of TV Yorkshire’s interview with David Haigh, which we wrote about of The72 under the title of ‘Leeds United buyers GFH: clueless, potless, corrupt – Haigh’, the former Whites MD opened up about the financing of the Elland Road club and where the money came from.

Talking about the arrogance of GFH’s soon-to-be CEO Hisham Alreyes, it soon became aware that Haigh was going to pull no punches. This developed even further when Haigh let on that the money GFH used to buy Leeds United was withdrawn from accounts GFH managed that were under US political sanctions.

In the second installment of this series of interviews with TV Yorkshire, Haigh elaborates on the inherent mess that GFH brought to Elland Road as they stumbled into a sale like gung-ho cowboys, before staggering around like dazed prizefighters. Haigh explains just how disorganised GFH were, how they had to beg for money to pay the players’ wages and about how exclusivity was just not that where GFH were concerned.
