Leeds midfielder set for move away from the club

Leeds United midfielder Tommaso Bianchi is set to make his loan move to Italian side Ascoli a permanent one, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

The 27-year-old is approaching the end of his half-season loan at the club, but their Serie B survival has resulted in Ascoli pushing for a permanent move.

Bianchi became a key figure for the Italian side during his short spell at the club, making 16 appearances and helping out with one assist.

His two-year stint at the West Yorkshire club has not been overly successful, making 26 appearances before making the loan move.

The midfielder moved to Leeds shortly after Massimo Cellino taking over the ownership of the Whites, joining on a free transfer in the summer of 2014.

The Yorkshire Evening Post reports that Ascoli negotiated a full-time option for Bianchi when they took him from Leeds in January but that option was dependent on the club avoiding relegation.

Ascoli went onto achieve a 15th place finish in Italy’s second tier, avoiding relegation from Serie B by two points.

Despite having two years left on his four-year contract at Leeds, it has become clear that Bianchi’s future at the Whites has come to an end and he is expected to move away this summer.

Leeds’ Scott Wootton and Mirco Antenucci are the other first-teamers who have already departed the club following the conclusion of the season.
