Leeds United have began their off season dealings by deciding not to renew the expiring contract of young defender Scott Wootton.
As covered on The72 earlier, the 24 year-old will become a free agent upon the expiration of his contract at the end of June.
The centre-back had been at the club since 2013, playing in over 65 games for the club but failed to cement a starting place during his time at Elland Road.
Whites fans were vocal on Twitter about their feelings regarding the decision not to renew his contract, with most happy to see the back of him…
Scott Wootton is leaving…rejoice!! Just another 15 shit players, a poor manager, & an insane owner left to go. #LUFC

The former Manchester United player divided opinion (to say the least) throughout his time in Yorkshire, and it’s hard to find anyone who’s sad about his pending departure…
Ok – there isn’t actually any positive responses to him leaving!
