Alejandro Faurlín

QPR fans’ favourite to leave this summer

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has revealed on Instagram that he is to leave the club after seven seasons. His contract expires this season and it would appear that manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has decided against offering the Argentinian an extension.

The 29-year-old has endured injury problems throughout his time at Loftus Road but made 30 Championship appearances this season, his highest figure since playing 40 times in the 2010/11 season.

In an emotional message written by the Rosario-born creative midfielder, he revealed that he was ‘to say goodbye’ and that was ‘eternally grateful’ for the love he received from the supporters during ‘the bad times’.

The fans’ favourite issued the following message:

“After 7 seasons a long journey with some tough difficult spells but with some of the best and more precious moments in my career I write you to say goodbye, I won’t comment on the decision. I Just wanna thank everyone at QPR. Thanks to every single person who work behinds the scenes, you all been so important to me and to us the players. But more than nothing massive thanks to the fans, for your support!!for your loyalty especially on the bad moments! I will be eternally grateful for that!! Im really happy and please to have been fit and available for selection all season. Playing 30 games it’s a massive bust and motivation for me!! I want more…Im healthy and I wanna play football more than ever!! once again GRACIAS POR TODO my family!! Ursssssss”

It is set to be a summer of activity at Loftus Road, with several players out of contract at the club and others who aren’t set to feature in Hasselbaink’s long term plans.
