5 factors to Leeds United success next season

(Stating the obvious) Adding more goalscorers

I apologise if suggested this is a bit of a cop out, but with Leeds it is glaringly obvious that they need a few more players to chip in with some goals. I suggest this might be a cop out as this article could easily be written about 70% of the teams in the Championship and say to add more goals. At the time of writing, the top league scorer for the Whites is Chris Wood on 12 goals. Remember that he has been out injured for quite a considerable amount of times. Even he has frustrated with his inability to take chances at times. Mirco Antenucci is on nine goals, but then you have to drop down to five goals with Stuart Dallas and then centre back Sol Bamba on four.

It is amazing what having two goalscorers in the team can do. Andre Gray and Sam Vokes at Burnley, Chris Martin and Tom Ince at Derby, Fernando Forestieri and Gary Hooper at Sheffield Wednesday are all just examples of this. Even at those clubs without two big-scoring scorers, Middlesbrough for example, you have a host of others chopping in with six or seven goals. Albert Adomah six goals and Gaston Ramirez seven goals, which isn’t bad for midfielders. Scott Arfield at Burnley has eight.

Of course, these are the harders players to find, however Leeds have proved in the past that they can recruit these type of players and let them flourish in the team. Ross McCormack, Luciano Becchio, Jermaine Beckford and Rob Hulse being a few examples. Having said that, all of the first four mentioned points above will be required to get the very best out of their goalscorers.
